Thank you for your interest in the Cambria Somerset Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship Program. Each year our organization works to enrich the lives of over 50 young ladies in Cambria and Somerset Counties. Our program helps young women to build self esteem and self confidence all while creating friendships that will last a lifetime.
The Cambria Somerset organization has been active since 1964, and although the name has changed over the years including Junior Miss and Young Woman of the Year, the belief of our board is the same – to help promote excellence among the young women in our counties. We as board members joined the organization for diverse reasons. Many of us have been contestants and winners or have had daughters who were contestants or winners over the years. The rest of our board has no ties to the organization other than realizing the importance of helping young women to succeed.
Last year we awarded over $30,000 is cash scholarships to our winners. We also made available over $225,000 in scholarships from local colleges and universities. No other scholarship organization in our area can boast of such awards!
Our commitment to this organization is without limits. We thrive from the success of the ladies who have graced us with their spirit. We thank our sponsors and the local colleges and universities for their support of our mission. Thank you to all of the young ladies who have walked across our stage. Knowing each and every one of you has truly been our pleasure. We look forward to many more years enriching the lives of young women in our community.
